Interxion to Use Integrated Concord/RiverSoft Solution to

Ensure Optimal Network Availability and Performance

RiverSoft (LSE:RSFT), a leading provider of Internet Protocol
(IP) network management solutions, today announced a technology alliance with Concord Communications Inc, a leader in performance management solutions.

Under the terms of the technology agreement, RiverSoft Fault Manager and Concord Communications Network Health® have been seamlessly integrated to offer service providers and enterprises a central platform that delivers real-time network and performance management in single Graphical User Interface (GUI). The first customer to implement the joint solution is Interxion, a pan-European operator of carrier-neutral Internet Exchange Centres?(IECs).

The integrated solution allows IT departments and Network Operation Centers (NOCs) to optimize the return on their infrastructure investment by providing valuable information about performance, availability, and topography as well as providing advanced warning of network-related problems. The RiverSoft and Concord solution provides an outstanding Quality of Service (QoS) tool by proactively managing and measuring internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs) more effectively as potential network problems are identified, isolated and resolved before outages occur.

Fault and performance management are beginning to be understood as a continuum, as both provide valuable context for each other, said Dennis Drogseth, vice president with the industry analyst group Enterprise Management Associates. The combination of RiverSoft\'s adaptive fault management with Concord\'s strong performance offerings will enable a more enlightened approach to service assurance -- that should lead to more effective operational and business impact decision making.

The RiverSoft and Concord integration operates as a transparent solution, with the RiverSoft console serving as the central event management system through which all alarms and events are processed. Within the solution, the RiverSoft Fault Manager GUI detects faults while Concord\'s real-time performance solution enables network operators to drill down into the affected network areas. Additionally, Concord\'s performance reports that correlate historical network trends may be launched from the RiverSoft GUI.

A driving force behind the integration was Interxion, a leader in pan-European Internet Exchange Centers. Interxion\'s managed connectivity services allow customers to connect with any number of parties within its IECs via one physical connection. By using the integrated RiverSoft and Concord solution, Interxion is able to ensure that all network connections across its European IECs have high availability, and potential bottlenecks can be identified quickly to ensure minimal customer impact.

The integration and implementation work undertaken by Concord and RiverSoft took very little time and did not require significant input from our NOC personnel, said Phil Collerton, executive vice president of operations at Interxion. It is crucial for our business to deliver fast, reliable and profitable Internet access to our customers, and thanks to the agreement between Concord and RiverSoft, we are alerted to developing network problems and can resolve them before a customer or our business is affected.

John Haley, vice president of marketing at RiverSoft, said: Part of our strategy is to integrate with other best-of-breed Business Support System (BSS) and Operational Support System (OSS) applications to offer companies a broader range of solutions. Concord and RiverSoft may now offer customers tools that enable proactive network and service management, while improving productivity and performance.

Brian Burba, vice president of product marketing, at Concord Communications, said: The combination of real-time proactive performance management and root cause analysis ensures that Interxion will have a proactive method of managing their SLAs. Interxion can offer their customers the promise of service quality and application performance and still get a quick return on their investment.

Editors Notes

RiverSoft provides advanced network management solutions that have been designed to adapt to the rapid pace of change in today\'s IP networks. The company\'s software substantially improves IP network availability by building a topology of the network and then using this information to isolate the root-cause of network problems. The software discovers, recognises and adapts to changes in IP networks with minimal need for human intervention, allowing customers to more efficiently and effectively manage networks. RiverSoft solutions are comprised of the Network Management Operating System?(NMOS), a sophisticated platform that automatically discovers the configuration of the network and continuously monitors it and a Fault Manager application that isolates the root-cause of network problems.

RiverSoft customers and partners include Deutsche Bank, Hewlett-Packard, Intel Corporation, Level 3 Communications and Siemens Network Systems Limited. Information about RiverSoft and its solutions may be found on the World Wide Web at www.riversoft.com.
