Re:       Status of proposed acquisition of McAfee

Recently we have received many inquiries as to the progress of Intel’s proposed acquisition of McAfee Incorporated.  We are happy to announce that all required pre-close regulatory filings around the world have been made and the matter is now under review in those respective jurisdictions.  We expect that the deal will close some time in the first half of 2011 but do not have any further details to share at this time.

We are excited about the transaction and the opportunity to improve security for internet-connected devices.  We believe that the combination of  Intel and McAfee will prove important in achieving breakthrough innovations in security and look forward to discussing in more detail our product plans and strategies after the transaction is closed.
